Other Calendar Providers

Connect Outlook, Fastmail, Nextcloud, and more

Book that Meeting works with any calendar service that provides an ICS feed. This guide covers the most popular providers and includes a generic setup checklist for any ICS-compatible calendar.

Universal Requirement
All integrations require a read-only ICS/iCal URL from your calendar provider. The specific steps vary by provider, but the concept is the same.

Popular providers

Microsoft Outlook & Office 365

Works with Outlook.com, Office 365, and Microsoft 365 Business accounts

  1. Log into Outlook.com or your Office 365 web portal
  2. Click the Settings gear → "View all Outlook settings"
  3. Navigate to Calendar → Shared calendars
  4. Under "Publish a calendar," select the calendar you want to share
  5. Choose permissions: "Can view all details" (read-only)
  6. Click "Publish" and copy the ICS link
  7. Paste the URL into Book that Meeting → Settings → Calendars
Warning
Microsoft may call this the "ICS link" or "iCal feed." Make sure you're copying the .ics URL, not the HTML sharing link.

Generic ICS setup checklist

If your calendar provider isn't listed above, follow this universal checklist. Any service that supports ICS/iCal export will work.

Steps for any provider

  1. Find the sharing or export settings in your calendar app
  2. Look for options like "Share calendar," "Export," "Publish," or "iCal feed"
  3. Choose read-only or view-only permissions
  4. Generate or copy the ICS URL (must end in .ics or be a valid iCal feed)
  5. Verify the URL starts with https:// (not http:// or webcal://)
  6. Test the URL by pasting it into a browser—it should download an .ics file
  7. Add the URL to Book that Meeting → Settings → Calendars
Pro tip
Can't find an ICS export? Some providers only offer CalDAV. Check if your provider has a "calendar link" or "subscribe" option—these often provide ICS feeds.

CalDAV vs ICS exports

ICS Feeds

Simple, read-only calendar feeds that Book that Meeting can poll

  • URL ends with .ics
  • Read-only by design
  • Works with any HTTP client
  • ✅ Supported by Book that Meeting

CalDAV

Two-way sync protocol requiring authentication

  • Requires username/password or token
  • Supports read and write operations
  • More complex to configure
  • ❌ Not directly supported (convert to ICS)
Info
If your calendar only offers CalDAV, look for an "export" or "subscribe link" option, which usually provides an ICS feed. Alternatively, contact your provider's support for instructions to generate a read-only ICS URL.
